The vessel features a tall cylindrical form with restrained hand-built contours, highlighted by natural ash deposits, earthy tones, and kiln effects characteristic of late 20th century Japanese ceramics.
The surface shows intentional irregularities and firing marks that emphasize material depth and the passage of time.
Comes with the original signed wooden box and cloth.
Artist Profile
Yamada Kazu (山田和, born 1954) is a Japanese ceramic artist active from the late 1970s onward.
He studied ceramics in Japan and has held solo exhibitions domestically and internationally, including Germany.
His work is known for its strong material presence and controlled yet expressive use of traditional firing techniques.
