Keramik - Kikko Shogetsu VII (Bansai) - Japan - Shōwa Zeit (1926-1989)

Item description This is a flower vase made by Kikkō-yaki, 7th generation Kikkō Shōgetsu (Hansai). The vase features a modern and sculptural form, with a twisted body, a triangular mouth, and a triangular base. The surface is finished in a rich sansai (three-color) glaze, with an especially beautiful and vivid green tone that stands out and gives the piece a deep and elegant presence. The vase is in excellent condition with minimal signs of use and no noticeable damage. It comes with its original wooden storage box (tomobako). Size Diameter: 15.3 cm Height: 20.5 cm Artist profile Kikkō Shōgetsu (Hansai) was the 7th-generation master potter of the Kikkō-yaki tradition, a historic ceramic lineage based in Osaka. Kikkō-yaki is known for its refined forms and sophisticated glaze techniques, particularly its use of sansai (three-color) glazing, influenced by classical Chinese ceramics and developed within Japanese tea culture. Works of Kikkō-yaki have been introduced internationally through exhibitions and collections of Japanese ceramics, and are appreciated by collectors of traditional tea ceramics outside Japan. The 7th generation Kikkō Shōgetsu is especially recognized for incorporating a modern sculptural sensibility while preserving the aesthetic spirit of traditional Japanese ceramics, which is clearly reflected in this piece. NOITICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost.
