Furoshiki(風呂敷) is a square-shaped cloth used to wrap, carry, and store things. It has a long history in Japan and became popular among the general public during the Edo period. Furoshiki come in various sizes to wrap various objects, both large and small. This furoshiki is a very large size and is called 'Oh-buroshiki(大風呂敷)' and made by joining ten pieces of cloth and dyed indigo. Holes that have opened up in places due to use have been repaired with patches. The faded, withered indigo color is exceptionally beautiful. The more the indigo-dyed cotton fabric is used, the better it tastes. The indigo color gives us a sense of wabi-sabi.
