須賀松園 Suga Shoen (1898-1974) A metal caster from Toyama Prefecture. He learned wax-mold casting techniques from his father, the first-generation Shōen, and succeeded to the name Shōen II in 1935. In 1943, he received a Special Selection award at the Ministry of Education Art Exhibition, followed by numerous other awards. In 1974, he was designated a Living National Treasure for wax-mold casting.
