Description

This Fubako (writing box) is a handcrafted piece of traditional Aizu-nuri (Aizu lacquerware).

Das Fubako (Schreibkasten) ist ein handgefertigtes Stück traditioneller Aizu-Nuri (Aizu-Lackware).

The lid features maki-e depicting scenes from Hokusai’s “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji”, including Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura, Gaifu Kaisei, Bishu Fuji Mihara, and Tokaido Hodogaya. The paintings incorporate nashiji (pear-skin) texture, and the entire box is finished in tame-nuri lacquer.

Der Deckel zeigt Maki-e-Dekorationen mit Szenen aus Hokusai’s "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" (36 Ansichten des Berg Fuji), darunter Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura, Gaifu Kaisei, Bishu Fuji Mihara und Tokaido Hodogaya. Die Malereien verwenden Nashiji (Birnenhaut) Struktur, und die gesamte Box ist mit Tame-nuri-Lack fertiggestellt.
