Large art deco ceramic nude sculpture, depicts a young lady with an apple - "Éva" - from Barna Búza famous Hungarian sculptor. Rare piece, in excellent condition, with glossy crackled white glaze. The artist's signature is on the base. Dimensions: 39 x 10 x 9 cm The photos are part of the description. Will ship safely packaged and with tracking number. Barna Búza: studied between 1928 and 1935 at the Hungarian College of Fine Arts. His masters were Ferenc Sidló and István Szentgyörgyi. In Italy, he studied with Ferruccio Ferrazzi as a Roman scholarship holder. He was an exhibiting artist from 1930, an artist who was recognized at a young age. His works were exhibited at the 1937 Venice Biennale, and in the same year he was awarded the Zala György Medal in Hungary. He was enlisted in World War II, and his studio was also taken away. From 1963 he was also active as a politician and representative. In 1970 for a walnut tree sculpture VI. Pope Paul presented him with a commemorative medal. From 1976 to 1978, he was an aesthetic consultant to the city of Baghdad. He lived in Budapest, worked at the artists' colony on Százados út. He has had several solo and group exhibitions, and his works can be found in numerous Hungarian and foreign public collections and museums. He made small sculptures, portraits, reliefs and public sculptures. His works were made of many kinds of materials: wood, stone, metal, ceramics, porcelain (for the Herend Porcelain Factory), pyrogranite. More than sixty public sculptures are associated with his name. His sculpture is characterized by classical education and fine naturalism.
