Very attractive and fine handmade wool Turkmen Bokhara rug circa 1920 measuring 210 x 155 cm ( 6,9 x 5 ft ). Rows of Gul or hexagonal motifs each decorated with various coloured objects in Abrash pink , Orange and red background field. The velvet and shimmy wool surface and dense foundation indicative of rug to be one of the high quality fro the Turkmenistan. Although almost 100 years old rug has remained with very good consistent pile with some minor wear and attractive colours. From the main field one can see the colour variation from the centre part since vegetable dyed wool used showing this with slightly lighter and darker colours. The rug has been professionally cleaned and washed and restored whereby the outer borders in four corners redone and secured ( I have added many photos for you to check these ). In personal view and as a collector of these rugs, this is a fantastic piece in reasonable price.
