Gerbino is internationally recognised for reviving and modernising the traditional Italian terre mêlée technique, in which differently coloured clays are meticulously combined to create integrated mosaic-like compositions within the ceramic body itself — not painted, but structurally embedded in the material. This refined example displays: A dense and vibrant tessellated mosaic exterior A stylised geometric and floral frieze in blue tones along the rim Fully integrated polychrome clay structure Stamped mark to the base: “Vallauris A.M.” (atelier mark) Each Gerbino piece is entirely unique due to the inherent variability of the clay composition and cutting process.
