Sammlung von 150 japanischen Hanko-Stempeln – Traditionelle Namensstempel aus verschiedenen - Holz, Knochen, Stein - Japan - 1900–2000

Item Description A fascinating collection of 150 Japanese personal seals (hanko/inkan), offered together as a single lot. These cylindrical stamps — used throughout Japan for centuries to authenticate documents, contracts, and correspondence — represent an authentic cross-section of everyday Japanese culture and craftsmanship. Each seal is individually hand-carved with kanji characters representing Japanese surnames, bundled together in groups of approximately 50 and secured with rubber bands. The faces of the seals display a rich variety of carving styles, from bold vermillion-inked designs to natural wood-toned engravings, creating a visually striking mosaic of Japanese script when viewed from above. The seals vary in material and tone, ranging from warm honey-brown bamboo and wood to creamy ivory-toned resin and deep ebony-black examples, reflecting the diversity of materials traditionally used in Japanese seal-making. This type of seal — known as a mitome-in (認印) or sanmonban (三文判) — is the most common variety used in daily life in Japan, used to acknowledge receipt of parcels, sign documents, and confirm agreements. As a collector's lot of 150 pieces, this ensemble offers exceptional visual and cultural appeal: displayed together, the bundled seals create a sculptural, almost architectural effect. They are highly collectible as examples of Japanese material culture, and also attractive as decorative objects or for use in art and craft projects. Size Individual seal dimensions: Height: 6 cm Width: 1 cm Depth: 1 cm Weight Total weight: 721 g (for all 150 seals) Condition This lot of 150 seals shows general signs of age and use consistent with vintage everyday items, including minor surface wear, ink residue on the carved faces, and slight discoloration on some pieces; no significant damage or breakage is noted. NOTICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping. I appreciate your cooperation.
