Artikelbeschreibung
This exquisite large vase is a superb example of traditional Kutani ware craftsmanship by the artist Ryuho. The piece showcases the distinctive polychrome enamel decoration technique that Kutani is renowned for, featuring an elegant design of stylized trees and leaves.
The surface is adorned with vibrant overglaze enamels in the classic Kutani palette, demonstrating masterful brushwork and color harmony. The tree and leaf motif is rendered with both bold outlines and delicate details, creating a dynamic composition that wraps around the vessel's generous form. The color scheme combines rich greens, warm yellows, deep blues, and touches of red, exemplifying the "Kutani gosai" (five Kutani colors) tradition.
The vase displays classical proportions with a wide shoulder tapering to a narrower base, offering excellent stability and visual balance. This substantial piece comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako), confirming its authenticity and enhancing its collector value.
Kutani ware, produced in Ishikawa Prefecture since the Edo period, is celebrated for its bold and sophisticated decorative style. This piece represents the continuation of that artistic heritage, combining time-honored techniques with the artist's individual expression.
