Artist Profile: Kinsai Fujii was born in 1976 in Arita, Saga Prefecture, the historic heartland of Japanese porcelain. He studied at the Saga Prefectural Arita Ceramic Technical College and trained under Manji Inoue, a Living National Treasure renowned for white porcelain. Fujii also studied with Shigemasa Kajiwara and Ikken Terui. By his mid-twenties, solo exhibitions of his work were held at department stores across Japan. He has received numerous awards at craft exhibitions nationwide. His works have been acquired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and are held in the collection of the British Museum in London.
