[ Kostenloser Versand ]Arita-Sometsuke-Nishiki Vase mit floralem Design und - Porzellan - Fujii Kinsai / 藤井錦彩 (b. 1976) - Japan - Heisei Zeit (1989-heute)

A vessel of generous proportion where vivid florals and quiet gold arabesques meet in refined harmony. Description: This Arita porcelain vase presents a broad, gently flattened spherical body that tapers to a small cylindrical mouth at the top and rests on a subtle foot ring below. The overall silhouette conveys a sense of grounded elegance and visual weight. The central band of the vessel is divided into vertical panels against a white ground, each filled with hand-painted flowering branches. The blossoms include peonies and chrysanthemums rendered in a palette of cobalt blue, soft pink, vermilion red, pale yellow, and green, with leaves depicted in tones of teal and indigo. The brushwork is confident yet delicate, and the outlines of each petal and leaf are clearly defined.Above and below the floral panels, a deep green glaze covers the shoulder and lower body, enriched with scrolling arabesque motifs in gold. The gold linework traces continuous leaf and vine patterns, lending a subtle luminosity that contrasts with the matte texture of the green ground. The small mouth is decorated with blue floral motifs and a single red accent, echoing the palette of the main body. The base reveals a recessed foot ring bearing the artist's signature in underglaze blue. Cultural & Art Context: Arita, located in Saga Prefecture, has been one of Japan's foremost porcelain-producing regions for over four centuries. The combination of underglaze blue (sometsuke), overglaze enamel colours (iro-e), and gold embellishment (kinrande) represents a refined decorative tradition long associated with this region. Contemporary Arita artists continue to explore and reinterpret these classical techniques, creating works that honour tradition while expressing individual vision. Collector Appeal: Pieces by recognised Arita artists combining sometsuke, iro-e, and gold arabesque decoration offer collectors a compelling entry into the ongoing story of Japanese studio porcelain. Works of this scale and complexity are infrequently encountered outside Japan. Dimensions: Height: 21.0 cm Width: 23.0 cm Mouth diameter: 4.0 cm Foot diameter: 10.5 cm Weight: 2100 g Condition: No chips, cracks or restorations. Minor wear visible. Artist Profile: Kinsai Fujii was born in 1976 in Arita, Saga Prefecture, the historic heartland of Japanese porcelain. He studied at the Saga Prefectural Arita Ceramic Technical College and trained under Manji Inoue, a Living National Treasure renowned for white porcelain. Fujii also studied with Shigemasa Kajiwara and Ikken Terui. By his mid-twenties, solo exhibitions of his work were held at department stores across Japan. He has received numerous awards at craft exhibitions nationwide. His works have been acquired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and are held in the collection of the British Museum in London.
