A kaleidoscope captured in glass, where ribbons dance in perpetual motion. Description This extraordinary glass vessel showcases Tamami Sudo's mastery of the ribbon lace technique, where multicolored glass canes intertwine in vertical patterns across the body. The composition features vibrant ribbons in red, orange, yellow, lime green, pink, magenta, and purple, each maintaining its distinct hue while contributing to a unified chromatic symphony. The vessel stands on a black glass foot, rises through the exuberant polychrome body adorned with two ribbon-like handles, and culminates in a gold aventurine rim that flares outward. The interior glows with deep crimson glass, creating a luminous contrast with the exterior patterns. The wooden box bears an inscription in black ink. Dimensions Height: 24.8 cm Diameter: 11 cm Mouth diameter: 10.1 cm Weight: 607 g Condition No chips, cracks or restorations. Artist Profile Tamami Sudo is a contemporary Japanese glass artist born in Chiba Prefecture. She began her professional career in 1997, working independently before studying under Kenji Ito at Sai Glass Studio in Kawasaki City from 1998. Sudo has held numerous solo exhibitions at prestigious venues including Kiyosato Kitazawa Museum of Art (2010), Nihonbashi Takashimaya, Yokohama Takashimaya, and Tamagawa Takashimaya.
