Speer Japanisches Garten-Scheren-Set YC57 – Okubo Bonsai-Scheren & Baumscheren – Signiert von Jyuen - Japan - 2000-2010
Set of traditional Japanese horticultural shears consisting of four tools used for gardening and bonsai work.
The lot includes:
• Okubo-type garden shears – signed Genzo (源造)
• Okubo-type garden shears – signed Teijiro (定次郎)
• Okubo-type garden shears – signature present but partly unreadable due to wear
• Pruning shears – signed Yukifusa (行房)
Okubo-type shears are traditional Japanese gardening scissors widely used for shaping shrubs, bonsai work, and detailed pruning. They are valued for their precise cutting ability, balanced weight, and durable carbon steel construction.
The signed examples represent traditional Japanese workshop production typical of hand-forged garden tools.
All tools are in used condition and show signs of age and use, including surface rust, wear, and patina. Such characteristics are common for vintage carbon steel tools and reflect their authentic working history.
No polishing or restoration has been carried out in order to preserve their original condition.
