Bronze, Patinierte Bronze - Signed Hideyoshi 秀義 - Eine kraftvolle, hochwertige, patinierte Bronzeskulptur eines unauffälligen Tigers. - Meiji-Zeit (spätes 19. Jahrhundert)
A high-quality patinated bronze sculpture with a dark patina depicting a study of a powerful tiger in a stealthy position.
The animal’s posture is highly engaging, with bent legs, the tail curling upward at the end, and the body lowered as it approaches its prey just a moment before striking.
The characteristic stripes of the tiger’s fur are masterfully rendered and emphasized with strong engraved lines.
Signature Hideyoshi (秀義) under the belly.
Okimono (置物), combining the kanji "oki" (置き, to place) and "mono" (物, object), refers to a decorative object meant for display. Okimono, popular in the Meiji period (1868 - 1912), were finely crafted sculptures made from materials such as ivory, boxwood, wood, and bronze.
---The okimono is in good condition. There is some wear to the patina consistent with age. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
---The item will be carefully packed and shipped via DHL express or FedEx.
