Paar kreative Kokeshi-Puppen „Anmutiger Frühling“ – Usaburo Workshop - Holz - Japan - Shōwa Zeit (1926-1989)

Item Description: This lot features a beautiful pair of Japanese "Creative Kokeshi" (創作こけし) dolls titled "Graceful Spring" (麗春, Reishun). Both pieces are high-quality modern creations from the world-renowned Usaburo Kokeshi workshop. The title "Reishun" (麗春) evokes the refined beauty and freshness of springtime. These dolls showcase Usaburo's signature techniques, combining hand-painting with delicate wood carving (relief) and pyrography (burnt accents) to create a three-dimensional effect. The bodies are decorated with vibrant red and white plum blossoms (梅, Ume). Both dolls are relatively recent productions: - The large doll bears the current "Usaburo Kokeshi" design sticker on the base. - The small doll features a modern aesthetic with a clean, white-painted face. While they belong to the same "Reishun" series, the slight differences in finish highlight the unique charm of contemporary handmade kokeshi. Brand / Artist: Usaburo Kokeshi Workshop (卯三郎こけし): Founded in 1979 by the pioneering craftsman Usaburo Okamoto (1917-2009). Based in Gunma Prefecture, this studio is Japan’s most famous creative kokeshi workshop. They established a unique style by incorporating carving and heat-etching into traditional doll-making. Today, the workshop continues to innovate under the leadership of award-winning artists, including two winners of the Prime Minister's Award. Size & Weight: - Large: 26 × 9.5 × 9.5 cm / 687 g - Small: 18 × 7 × 7 cm / 237 g Keyword for search: Japanese Wood / Hand-painted / Modern / Folk Art / Usaburo / Gunma / Plum Blossom / Ume / Interior / Ornament / Pair Good condition. While overall in good condition considering their age, they may show slight signs of wear and minor dirt. Please refer to the photos for a closer look. NOITICE The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx, depending on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping. I appreciate your cooperation.
