## Item Description This is a unique collection of four vintage Japanese Kokeshi dolls, each representing a different region and cultural story. Three of the dolls are "Literary Kokeshi," featuring famous Japanese calligraphy of poems and folk songs on their bodies. 1. Creative Kokeshi (Boso Peninsula): A charming modern-style doll from the Chiba region. Marked "Boso" (房総) on the back. 2. Kaminoyama Onsen Kokeshi (Yamagata): Features the famous poem "Over the Mountains" by Karl Busse (translated by Bin Ueda). The calligraphy reads: "Far beyond the mountains, so people say, happiness dwells." It depicts a peaceful landscape with a thatched-roof house. 3. Bandai Highlands Kokeshi (Fukushima): Created by Takawo Kiyohara, a Prime Minister's Award-winning artist. It features the lyrics of the famous folk song "Aizu Bandaisan," celebrating the "Treasure Mountain" of Aizu. Signed by the artist on the bottom. 4. Zao Onsen Kokeshi (Yamagata): Features a famous tanka poem by the "wandering poet" Wakayama Bokusui: "How many mountains and rivers must I cross before I reach the land where loneliness ends? Today again, I continue my journey."
