A substantial and visually striking museum-sized specimen featuring numerous sharp, dodecahedral Almandine Garnet crystals embedded in their natural Mica Schist matrix. This piece originates from the classic Austrian locality near the Berliner Hütte in the Ötztal valley.
The garnets display a deep, rich reddish-brown color and excellent crystal form, ranging in size from a few millimeters to over a centimeter. They are densely set upon the silvery-grey, foliated mica schist, creating a wonderful contrast.
This is a classic alpine classic from a famous locality, perfectly preserved as a large, raw cabinet specimen.
