Anthony Trollope (/ˈtrɒləp/ TROL-əp; 24. April 1815 – 6. Dezember 1882)[2] war ein englischer Romancier und Beamter der viktorianischen Ära. Zu den bekanntesten seiner 47 Romane gehören zwei Serien mit jeweils sechs Romanen, die gemeinsam als Chronicles of Barsetshire und die Palliser-Romane bekannt sind, sowie The Way We Live Now. Seine Romane befassen sich mit politischen, sozialen und geschlechtsspezifischen Fragen und anderen aktuellen Themen.[3] Er verfasste auch eine Autobiografie, ein Buch über William Makepeace Thackeray, ein Buch über Lord Palmerston, fünf Reisebücher und 42 Kurzgeschichten.
