Devotional reliquiar aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, containing a First-Class relic Ex Purpura (from the purple mantle of Our Lord Jesus Christ). The relic is carefully preserved beneath glass and accompanied by its original identification label, reflecting its ecclesiastical provenance and devotional significance.

The reverse of the reliquary displays an intact red wax episcopal seal, along with red silk threads, which assure the authenticity of the relic’s ecclesiastical origin. These elements remain undisturbed, affirming the relic’s preserved and original condition.

The purple mantle holds profound significance in Christian tradition, recalling the garment placed upon Christ by Roman soldiers during His Passion as an act of mockery before the Crucifixion (Matthew 27:28; John 19:2). Over time, this mantle came to symbolize both Christ’s suffering and His kingship. Relics associated with the Passion of Christ have long been among the most revered objects of Christian devotion, serving as tangible reminders of the sacrifice at the heart of the Christian faith.
