In Deep Waters hinterfrage ich die Größenordnung der Hindernisse, die wir uns selbst auferlegen, durch meine charakteristische trocken-sachliche Ironie. Ein Schwimmer bereitet sich auf einen Sprung vor, während eine zweite Gestalt sorgfältig eine flache Schale mit Wasser füllt und eine trivial erscheinende Situation in eine monumentale Herausforderung verwandelt. Das Bild knüpft an die vertraute Redewendung an, „in tiefem Wasser zu sein“, und hallt zugleich die Idee des Ertrinkens in einem Glas Wasser wider – eine Situation, die viel schwieriger erscheint, als sie tatsächlich ist. Inspiriert von den malerischen Qualitäten der figürlichen Malerei der Renaissance, wurde das Werk im Studio vollständig fotografiert, wobei ausschließlich Elemente zum Einsatz kamen, die von meiner Kamera physisch eingefangen wurden.

Archivierte, pigmentbasierte Giclée Limited Edition auf HAHNEMÜHLE Baryta Silk 310 g/m². Gedruckt von einem Fine-Art-Labor, das 9-mal mit dem TIPA Award ausgezeichnet wurde, mit Epson UltraChrome Pro12-Tinten.

NEUESTE AUSZEICHNUNG — 2026 International Photography Awards (IPA – Lucie Foundation), eines der weltweit führenden internationalen Fotowettbewerbe: BEST OF SHOW – Ausstellung in den House of Lucie Galleries in New York City, Paris, Budapest und Athen.

Die Arbeiten von Elena Paraskeva befinden sich in institutionellen und kommerziellen Sammlungen, darunter die Public Art Department of Sweden (Västra Götaland Government), Boston Hospital, USA (große 500 cm Installation am Eingang zur Kinderkrebsstation), Australian National University, Thalassa Museum, Affinity (Serif) und weitere institutionelle und kommerzielle Sammlungen.

Ihre Arbeiten wurden im EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT in Brüssel sowie auf großen Biennalen und Galerien in NYC, Paris, Tokio, London, Dubai, Sao Paolo (Brasilien), Wien, Barcelona, München, Kuala Lumpur, Florenz, Frankfurt, Málaga, Linz, Graz, Siena usw. ausgestellt.
Im Jahr 2026 wählte Magnum-Fotograf Alec Soth persönlich ihre Arbeiten für eine Ausstellung in Griechenland aus, die unter der Schirmherrschaft des griechischen Kulturministeriums stattfand.

Sie wurde von vier verschiedenen internationalen photography societies als International Photographer of the Year (2024 / 2023 / 2021 / 2018) ausgezeichnet.

Sie hat internationale Anerkennung und große Auszeichnungen von Hasselblad Masters, World Masters of Photography, LensCulture, Aesthetica, Prix de la Photographie Paris, International Photography Awards (IPA), Neutral Density Awards und vielen anderen erhalten.

Seit 2021 ist sie Jurorin für das FLORIDA MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS und fungiert jedes Jahr als Jurorin bei mehreren internationalen Fotowettbewerben. Sie ist außerdem ehemalige Adobe-Instruktorin und Botschafterin.
