The model stands out for its ingenious technical safety and trigger system, specific to French luxury production from the interwar era:
Locking System (Safety Lock): The lighter is equipped with a massive vertical piston-screw, with a serrated head. When this screw is fully screwed in, it mechanically blocks the lower lever, preventing accidental opening and minimizing fuel evaporation.
Semi-Automatic Operation: By partially unscrewing the piston, the lever is released. A simple vertical push on the screw head instantly triggers the powerful internal spring, which automatically throws the lid upwards, rotates the toothed wheel on the stone and ignites the wick.
Efficient Extinguishing System: The interior of the upper lid is equipped with a sealed brass cylinder that falls firmly over the wick when closed, extinguishing the flame on the spot.
Mechanical Condition: Perfect. All components slide flawlessly, the axles and rivets have no structural play, and the spring has a firm detent, generating a strong spark with each press. The original cotton wick is included.
Materials, Design and Protection
Windguard: The upper part is protected by an integrated metal screen, equipped with rectangular slots for ventilation, optimized to keep the flame stable.
Housing and Finish: Massive rectangular heavy metal body, with original mirror chrome finish. The upper and lower edges feature a fine border with a ridged texture (decorative striations), which ensures excellent adhesion.
