Andreas H. Bitesnich, born 1964 in Vienna, is an Austrian photographer and musician. He specializes in nude and portrait photography. His work appears regularly in international magazines.
Originally working as a retailer, Bitesnich found his passion for photography when his friend, an assistant photographer, showed him his portfolio of black-and-white photographs. He taught himself the relevant photography techniques. In 1989, he decided to quit his job as a retailer and started working as a professional photographer.

Created within just a few weeks and published by teNeues, the book presents Bitesnich’s new Asian model in a wide variety of poses. The photographer’s favorite subject remains unchanged: a strong yet sensual woman who embraces nudity with confidence and assumes even the most extreme poses with remarkable ease.
Over the past 23 years, Bitesnich has taught himself everything he knows about photography. Before that, he worked as a department store salesman. In 1988, a portfolio belonging to a photographer’s assistant sparked his interest in the medium. While continuing to sell electrical appliances during the day, he spent his nights studying exposure, aperture, and composition—ultimately becoming one of the most respected photographers of contemporary times.
At the beginning of his career, Bitesnich worked primarily as a fashion photographer. However, assignments for magazines such as Playboy led him to discover his passion for fine-art nude photography, a field to which he has remained devoted ever since.
"Something inside me tells me that there is hardly anything more beautiful than rediscovering the human body again and again," Bitesnich once said about his work.
Among his greatest inspirations is American photographer Irving Penn, whom he admires for his versatility. Like Penn, Bitesnich refuses to be confined to a single style. For him, it is always about creating "the best possible image."
Photography runs in the family. Bitesnich’s grandfather Rudolf, an engineer by profession, also created nude photographs during the 1920s. Andreas discovered these remarkable images among his grandmother’s belongings and describes them simply as "fantastic."
Today, Andreas H. Bitesnich ranks among the most celebrated photographers of his era. Retrospectives of his work have been presented in Hamburg and Vienna, and many of the photographs featured in Erotic were previously exhibited in Vienna as well."
