What is Red Grass Coral?
Origin: It is an organic gemstone created by sea creatures called coral polyps.
Appearance: In its natural state, it is often white or pale with a structure that looks like branches or grass, hence the name.
Characteristics: It is soft and highly porous, which allows it to take dye very well.
Characteristics of Dyed Red Grass Coral:
Colour: Deep red, sometimes called "oxblood," but the colour is artificially added to the porous surface.
Usage: Frequently sold as beads, spheres, and cabs for beading and jewellery making.
Care: Because it is dyed and soft, it should not be exposed to chemicals, long-term water.
