Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
A beautiful Japanese Aka-Raku (red Raku ware) chawan with a warm reddish glaze and expressive hand-painted black brush decoration.
This tea bowl embodies the traditional aesthetics of wabi-sabi through its soft asymmetrical form, gently undulating rim, and subtle crackled glaze texture developed during firing.
The surface shows rich tonal variations ranging from deep persimmon red to warm earthy hues, enhanced by natural kiln effects and fine crazing. The bold black brushwork gives the piece a lively and spontaneous character, contrasting elegantly against the glossy red glaze.
The interior retains a calm and refined appearance, making the bowl highly suitable for tea ceremony use as well as display. The hand-shaped form sits comfortably in the hands and reflects the warmth and individuality characteristic of Raku ware.
The bowl is accompanied by its original signed wooden tomobako.
The foot bears an impressed seal mark.
Condition:
Good vintage condition with no cracks or repairs observed.
Minor firing imperfections, glaze crazing, pinholes, and natural kiln effects are present as part of the traditional handmade process and aesthetic.
