About the Maker — Fujihira Togei "Seibun"
Founded over a century ago in Gojozaka, the historic heart of Kyoto's ceramic district, Fujihira Togei has always pursued refined, original design while preserving the handcrafted warmth of true Kyoto ware. The house carries on the name of its first-generation founder, "Seibun" (SEIBUN), as its brand, now continued into the fourth generation. Working in the very center of Kiyomizu ware production, it specializes in art ceramics — flower vessels, vases, and matcha tea bowls — each hand-made and hand-painted so that every piece is one of a kind. The enclosed biography records a distinguished exhibition history, including the Japan Shinkogei (New Craft) Exhibition and Kyoto craft exhibitions.
