Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Description:
This elegant Shigaraki ware single-flower vase was created by Second Nishio Tōzan (Nishio Akimei), a ceramic artist from Shiga Prefecture and successor to the Tōzan kiln. The softly rounded droplet form is finished in natural ash-fired stoneware, revealing warm reddish-brown fire markings that gradually fade into a pale clay body. Rather than relying on applied glaze, the surface celebrates the natural effects of high-temperature firing, highlighting the rustic beauty and quiet elegance associated with Shigaraki ceramics. The tiny mouth is designed for displaying a single seasonal flower or branch, reflecting the understated aesthetics of Japanese flower arrangement. Accompanied by the original artist's brochure, this piece is a refined example of contemporary Shigaraki craftsmanship that balances simplicity, texture, and natural beauty.
