Movement: Automatic, caliber 2783
Dial: Textured gradient with applied indices and red date window
Case Size: 37mm (excluding the crown)
Case Material: Stainless Steel

Dial and Hands
The watch features an exceptionally preserved textured gradient dial that transitions beautifully from a lighter center to darker edges. It is detailed with an applied Rado anchor logo set against a red background, complementing the red numerals in the date window at three o'clock. Applied faceted indices and clean printing with no visible degradation complete the striking layout. The silver-tone baton hands feature white inserts and are joined by a sweep second hand. These original hands remain in very clean condition, showing minimal signs of aging or oxidation.
Case and Crystal
The polished stainless steel tonneau case displays honest vintage wear, carrying light surface scratches and scuffs consistent with age and normal use. Despite these marks, the case edges remain relatively well-defined. The case design incorporates the bezel into a single unibody top surface, providing a seamless visual transition. On the right side, the crown is signed with the Rado anchor logo and remains in good condition with defined fluting. The domed acrylic crystal is clear, with no significant scratches, crazing, or chips visible.
Movement
Inside is a gold-tone automatic movement, the caliber ETA 2783. The plates and bridges are clean, showing no visible corrosion, staining, or significant wear. The movement features engravings for Rado, 25 jewels, and Swiss origin, with the ETA shield and 2783 visible under the balance wheel. Timegrapher: +40+45s/day. Running in operational condition. Maintains the authentic mechanical character of the watch.
Strap
The watch is fitted with a modern black leather strap featuring white contrast stitching. It appears new or minimally worn, pairing excellently with the vintage aesthetic of the dial.
Condition
Excellent vintage condition. The polished stainless steel case shows honest vintage wear with light surface scratches and scuffs, yet retains pleasing geometry and well-defined edges. The textured gradient dial, hands, and domed acrylic crystal are all exceptionally preserved. The automatic movement is visually clean and running in operational condition.
Dimensions
The case measures 37mm (excluding the crown).
Remarks
This Rado Serbia is defined by its captivating textured gradient dial and the character of its 1970s tonneau case. The clean condition of the dial, hands, and movement makes this a highly attractive example of Rado's creative design language from the era.
History
During the 1970s, Rado established a strong reputation for highly distinctive case shapes, expressive dials, and unconventional materials. While models like the DiaStar often take the spotlight, the Serbia represents a lesser-seen branch of Rado's catalog from this highly creative period. Powered by the reliable ETA 2783 automatic caliber, this model reflects the vibrant aesthetic experimentation of the decade while maintaining the robust mechanical foundation expected from Swiss watchmaking of the era.
