Mid-Century Italian Ceramic Wall Platter – Fish Sgraffito & Fat Lava Glaze by CME Italy (c. 1950s/60s) – 31 cm

Exquisite Mid-Century Modern Italian Art Ceramic Wall Plate

An impressive, vibrant Italian studio ceramic wall platter dating from the 1950s–1960s. Manufactured by CME Italy, this piece is a prime example of post-war Italian decorative art pottery.
The platter depicts a charming underwater aquarium scene featuring two stylized tropical fish swimming among sea grass and red coral.

Executed using the classic sgraffito technique with vivid, glossy polychrome enamels set against a highly tactile, white/gray volcanic "fat lava" texture background. The rim is finished in a striking speckled turquoise glaze.

Signed on reverse and numbered G/5/A

Period: Circa 1950–1969

Origin: Italy

Technique: Sgraffito, hand-painted polychrome enamel, fat lava / textured glaze

Diameter: Approx. 31 cm

Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations. Beautiful color retention and glaze shine. Comes ready to hang with original cord through factory-made suspension holes on the back rim.

A fantastic addition for collectors of Italian Mid-Century Modern design, Raymor-era ceramics, or vintage marine-themed art.
