The SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 is one of the most celebrated standard lenses of the M42 screw-mount era. Produced by Asahi Optical from 1971 with Pentax's Super-Multi-Coating, it is renowned for its beautiful rendering, smooth bokeh and solid all-metal build. Like many fast lenses of its generation it uses thoriated (radioactive) glass, which can develop a characteristic slight yellow tint over time — this is normal and easily corrected in white balance or with UV exposure. It adapts readily to virtually every modern mirrorless system.

Mount & Compatibility
This lens uses the universal M42 (42mm screw) mount and is a manual-focus lens. It fits any M42-mount film SLR.
Thanks to the M42 standard, it adapts easily and inexpensively to virtually any modern mirrorless camera (Sony E, Fujifilm X, Micro Four Thirds, Canon RF, Nikon Z, etc.) with a simple M42 adapter, making it a versatile choice for digital shooters.
