While the lower lettering „...STATES OF AMERICA“ is printed in a deep, sharp, and intense blue ink, the fine horizontal engraving lines forming the sky and the top margin are entirely absent and were never printed (Worn/Clogged Plate).
Microscopic Details: The engraving lines inside the upper main sail show sharp cutoffs (Broken Lines). Additionally, a distinct production-related plate scratch runs to the left within the main sail, whereas the surrounding design shows normal, heavy ink coverage.
Cancellation: Striking and highly visible geometric „Looking Glass“ (Telescope) fancy cancel, beautifully framing the central vignette.
