Bodan H0 - DSB Litra S 710
Extremely proud to present one of the holy grails of Scandinavian model railroading history: an ultra-rare, all-metal Bodan DSB Litra S 710 steam locomotive in H0 scale.
Manufactured in Denmark for a very brief period between roughly 1948 and 1953, this is a true museum-grade piece that is virtually impossible to find on the open market today.
A Piece of Historic Engineering (The Famed Selenium Rectifier):This is the legendary, earliest factory-built version featuring the highly sought-after original selenium rectifier. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, before modern silicon diodes existed, Bodan used a sophisticated stack of selenium plates to convert current. Finding this historical technology intact inside the model makes it an absolute dream for serious collectors of vintage toy history.
The body is a magnificent, heavy zinc/lead die-cast masterpiece, boasting stunning industrial paintwork and pristine "DSB S 710" lettering.
It is a massive, heavy, and imposing model that commands attention.
Condition & Collector's Note (An Untouched Restoration Opportunity): As a non-expert, I have chosen strictly not to tamper with or attempt a backyard repair on a model of such immense rarity and uniqueness. A masterpiece like this deserves to be handled only by a professional hand.
The Defects/Tasks: The internal wiring requires a simple re-soldering of the vintage wires, and the mechanisms need a proper period-accurate cleaning/lubrication.
The Good News: The motor is 100% alive and responsive (it shows immediate signs of life and attempts to cycle when current is applied directly).
The gears move, and the heavy metal chassis is structurally complete.
Because I want to preserve its 100% authentic, untouched state, I am leaving the final fine-tuning, wiring, and cleaning to the winning bidder—a professional collector who understands the value of doing it right.Summary:Brand: Bodan (Denmark)Model: Danish State Railways (DSB) Litra S 710Era: Early 1950s (~1948–1953)
