Crafted primarily from keyaki 欅 (Japanese zelkova) with kiri 桐 (paulownia) door panels, the cabinet is finished in a warm dark brown tone.
The cabinet is arranged with two pairs of sliding doors, a hinged cupboard door, and three drawers of varying size. The upper sliding doors are decorated with inset geometric panels composed of alternating strips of bamboo in contrasting shades, accented with stylised fan motifs, of which 2 inlaid with small details of blue mother-of-pearl.
