Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Artist: Giovanni Contardi
Title: Umobolo
Year: 2026

Edition: Unique work
Signature: Hand-signed on the reverse

The composition is built around the repeated word “NO”, distributed across the surface in shifting colour combinations. As the word repeats, it moves between language, image and pattern.
The title, “Umobolo”, is an invented word formed from “umore” and “patibolo”.
The lateral view reveals the adjacent faces of the cubes and the full chromatic structure of the work.
Giovanni Contardi (b. 1994) is an Italian artist internationally recognised for his mosaics created entirely from original Rubik’s Cubes. His installations are permanently exhibited at the Rossini National Museum in Italy and at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel at Disneyland Paris.
His work was mentioned by Ernő Rubik, inventor of the Rubik’s Cube, in his autobiographical book Cubed: The Puzzle of Us All (2020).
Selected works, installations and process documentation are shared on Instagram under the name JVENB.
