High-quality Indonesian Teak sculpture from the 1960s, depicting a man feeding a fighting rooster from his hand, with a second rooster positioned above an intricately carved openwork basket. The carving is executed from a single block of dense Teak wood, showing refined craftsmanship in the anatomy, facial expression, and geometric basket details.

The openwork basket, enclosed rooster and standing rooster are all carved integrally from the same block, demonstrating a high level of technical skill. This type of one-piece carving requires exceptional precision and is rarely encountered in smaller Balinese/Javanese sculptures.

This subject is closely associated with traditional Balinese culture and is appreciated by collectors of Indonesian and Asian folk art.

The back of the sculpture bears the incised initials “IK”, which possibly correspond to I Ketut Kawi, a Balinese sculptor known for producing detailed figurative carvings during the 1960s–1970s.
