S.T. Dupont - Ligne 1 Large - 179BH27 - Gold-plated Godron - Wempe papers - Lighter - 1999
Original S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 gas lighter in the large version, with an elegant vertical godron/ribbed pattern and gold-coloured finish.
A particularly interesting feature of this example is its surviving original S.T. Dupont guarantee card, documenting the sale of the lighter on 20 January 1999 by the renowned jeweller Wempe, Königsallee 14, Düsseldorf, Germany.
The guarantee card states the reference 179BH27. The marking on the bottom of the lighter also contains the corresponding BH27 sequence.
The original S.T. Dupont instruction booklet is also included.
Condition and functionality
The lighter has been tested before sale.
* Gas tank holds gas and is tight.
* Ignition mechanism works reliably.
* Lid closes correctly and without noticeable play.
* Opening sound is rather subdued; it does not produce the pronounced high-pitched “ping” commonly associated with certain Ligne 2 lighters.
The lighter is in good used vintage condition considering its age, with visible signs of normal use. There are scratches and surface marks, particularly on the base, body and edges. The vertical godron pattern remains clearly defined.
No major deformation is visible and the lid is correctly aligned.
