Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
The Golden Body, 2026
Damián Comas (1984)
Mixed media on canvas
70 × 50 cm
A nude body emerges from a dense, vertically enclosed field of dark marks, surrounded by a luminous golden surface. The figure is present yet deliberately unresolved: fragmented lines, scratches and layers of pigment allow the body to appear and disappear within the material.
The dark rectangular structure acts almost as a frame within the painting, containing the figure while separating it from the surrounding gold. Rather than describing the anatomy precisely, Comas reduces the body to traces, tensions and fragments, exploring the fragile boundary between figuration and disappearance, flesh and matter.
Gold, traditionally associated with permanence, value and the sacred, contrasts with the vulnerability of the naked body. The result is an intimate image in which the human figure seems simultaneously exposed and protected, preserved within the painted surface.
Original and unique work, created in 2026. Mixed media on canvas, 70 × 50 cm. Signed by the artist. The work is in excellent conditio.
