Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Striking vintage Italian onyx table lighter set from the 1960s–1970s, featuring exceptionally beautiful natural banding in burgundy, rose, cream, ochre, brown and subtle green. The larger piece retains its lighter mechanism, while the matching smaller piece has lost its original mechanism and is now beautifully suited as a decorative tealight holder.
The large table lighter retains its original chrome-coloured mechanism. The flint mechanism produces a spark, but the lighter requires filling and has therefore not been tested with fuel.
Both pieces are carved from heavy natural onyx, and their rich layered patterns make each side visually different. Particularly attractive are the dramatic natural veins and colour transitions characteristic of this decorative stone.

Dimensions & weight
Table lighter: Ø 6.8 cm × H 10.5 cm – 596 g
Smaller holder: Ø 6.8 cm × H 5.2 cm – 361 g
Combined weight: 957 g
The onyx shows natural fissures, cracks, small losses/chips and age-related imperfections, particularly visible on the smaller piece. The metal fittings also show signs of age and use. These details have deliberately been photographed closely and form an integral part of the condition description.
Despite these imperfections, the two pieces display beautifully together and form a highly decorative example of the colourful onyx accessories fashionable in European interiors during the 1960s and 1970s.
Most likely Italian manufacture, using Pakistani onyx. Circa 1960s–1970s.
