By the 2010s the Seiko 5 had grown a sporting wing, and this is one of its most confident expressions: a broad steel case with pronounced crown guards and a recessed crown at 4, crowned by a deep blue unidirectional bezel and a matching blue dial. Gilt-ringed luminous plots, a gold minute hand and the red SPORTS signature give the piece its warmth, while the exhibition caseback reveals the calibre 4R36 with its twenty-four jewels and its unmistakable Seiko rotor. Rated to 100 metres and hand-windable with a hacking seconds - the practical refinements the earlier 7S movements lacked.

--- Condition Report ---
Overall: Very good - minor signs of wear. A well-kept example that has seen little use and presents crisply.
Case & Bezel: The steel case retains its factory finishes with only fine hairline marks on the polished flanks and lug tips. The blue bezel is complete, turns as it should and shows only light marks on the raised edges.
Dial & Crystal: The blue dial is deep and even in tone, with all luminous plots, hands and the day and date discs present and correct. The crystal is clear and free of chips.
Bracelet & Clasp: Please note that the strap is an aftermarket replacement and not the original Seiko bracelet. The dark blue leather is supple and complete, with only light creasing at the fold, and it closes on a steel deployant clasp.
Functions: Automatic movement, running at the time of listing. It winds by wrist motion and by hand, the seconds hack on setting, and the day and date advance correctly. Water resistance has not been tested and cannot be guaranteed; a service check is recommended before any exposure to water.
