Bechar 003 –4,9 g – Highly Polished Lunar Meteorite Endpiece in an Exclusive Museum-Style Display with Original Sand from the Find Location
A genuine fragment of the Moon—presented as a complete, exhibition-ready collector’s object.
Offered here is an exceptionally aesthetic endpiece of the lunar meteorite Bechar 003, professionally polished to a high gloss and presented together with original sand from the find location in a premium display box.
Bechar 003 is officially classified as a lunar feldspathic breccia. The outstanding feature of this specimen is its strongly contrasting cut surface: numerous bright feldspathic clasts stand out clearly against the deep, dark matrix, creating an almost three-dimensional structure. The surface resembles a miniature abstract lunar landscape—dark, mysterious and crossed by bright fragments of the Moon’s ancient crust.
Two small metallic inclusions provide additional visual accents, flashing under direct light. The high-quality polish reveals even the finest structures with exceptional clarity, giving the specimen remarkable depth and elegance.
As an endpiece, this specimen combines two qualities particularly valued by discerning collectors: the polished face provides a direct view into the interior of the lunar rock, while the reverse and outer edges retain their natural, unaltered surface. The beige, ochre and reddish-brown exterior creates a striking contrast with the almost black interior.
The visible brecciated structure also tells the geological history of the Moon. The rock consists of fragments that were broken apart, mixed and compacted again by enormous impacts on the lunar surface. A later impact launched this material from the Moon into space, before it eventually reached Earth after a long cosmic journey.
What makes this offer especially exclusive is its complete museum-style presentation. The meteorite is housed in a professionally designed display box and accompanied by a separate glass vial containing original desert sand from the find location. This creates a direct connection between the lunar meteorite and the remote landscape in which it was discovered.
Lunar meteorites already belong to the rarest and most desirable categories within the meteorite market. However, an aesthetic, highly polished endpiece combining a natural exterior, visible feldspathic clasts, metallic inclusions and such a complete presentation is offered only very rarely.
This is therefore far more than a small fragment of lunar rock. It is a carefully curated collector’s object with genuine museum presence—scientifically fascinating, visually exceptional and immediately ready for display.
As a member of the International Meteorite Collectors Association – IMCA #7379 and the Global Meteorite Association – GMA #G0117, I guarantee the authenticity of every meteorite I offer.
The presentation will, of course, be supplied with a corresponding Certificate of Authenticity.
Thank you and good luck with your bidding!
