Omega De Ville Automatic “Tiffany” – Ref. 162.045
A beautifully styled and highly distinctive Omega De Ville Automatic, reference 162.045, powered by the legendary Omega Calibre 1002.
Dating from approximately 1969–1970, this De Ville perfectly captures the bold, elegant design language of Omega’s late-1960s/early-1970s dress watches. The distinctive cushion-shaped case, integrated-style bracelet and clean vintage proportions give the watch an unmistakable character.
What makes this particular example especially unique is its extraordinary Tiffany Blue dial.
Original Omega Dial – Professionally Customized Tiffany Blue Colour
The original dial has been professionally customized in a sophisticated Tiffany Blue colour using high-end professional technology. This is not an aftermarket replacement dial: the underlying dial is an original Omega component, while the colour has been professionally transformed to create this distinctive contemporary look.
The result is a beautiful combination of authentic vintage Omega character and modern luxury styling.
The Tiffany Blue tone works exceptionally well with the brushed stainless-steel case and the original Omega mesh-style bracelet, giving this approximately 1970 vintage watch a surprisingly contemporary presence.
Original Omega Bracelet
The watch is fitted with its original Omega bracelet, including the Omega-signed clasp.
The bracelet is comfortable and is suitable for wrists up to approximately 20 cm.
Its integrated appearance complements the distinctive geometric case perfectly and gives the watch a particularly elegant, seamless look on the wrist.
Omega Calibre 1002
Inside is the Omega Calibre 1002, one of Omega’s well-known automatic movements of the era.
The movement is an automatic Swiss mechanical calibre with a date function and is visible in the photographs. The movement is currently running and the watch is in working condition.
The Calibre 1002 is closely associated with Omega’s elegant vintage dress watches of this period and remains a respected movement among collectors of vintage Omega timepieces. Contemporary market references for the same 162.045 confirm the Cal. 1002 specification and its late-1960s/early-1970s production period. (Catawiki)
A Vintage Omega with a Modern Unisex Character
Although the De Ville was originally positioned primarily as a men’s dress watch, the compact proportions and distinctive cushion case make this reference particularly versatile today.
Combined with the Tiffany Blue dial and original integrated bracelet, this example has a strong modern unisex appeal — equally suitable for someone looking for a sophisticated vintage men’s watch or a fashion-forward statement piece.
It is a great example of how a classic vintage Omega can be given a contemporary personality while retaining its original mechanical identity.
