Vintage 1968 Seiko 5 5126-7000 mit serviciertes 23-Juwelen-Automatikwerk, silbernem Sonnenstrahl‑Zifferblatt, Wochentag-/Datumsanzeige, Edelstahlgehäuse und neuem Glas.

Die Seiko 5-Linie war bereits Ende der 1960er Jahre zu einer der prägnanten Alltags-Automatik-Serien von Seiko geworden, die automatisches Aufziehen, Wochentag-/Datumsanzeige und robuste Bauweise in einer erschwinglichen Armbanduhr vereinte.

Diese 5126-7000, hergestellt im Mai 1968, ist eine besonders attraktive frühe Seiko 5-Variante. Sie verwendet das 23-Juwelen-Kaliber 5126A, produziert von Daini Seikosha und mit 19.800 Halbschwingungen pro Stunde. Das kleine Blitzsymbol über 6 Uhr ist mit der Daini-Produktion verbunden und ein schönes Detail aus der Epoche. Das Modell ist auch bemerkenswert durch sein ungewöhnliches Zifferblatt-Layout, bei dem die Seiko‑Unterschrift und die Anzahl der Juwelen bei 9 Uhr positioniert sind und das applizierte Seiko 5-Emblem bei 12 Uhr liegt. Die kompakte, kissenförmige Edelstahlhülle und die eingedrehte Krone sind sehr charakteristisch für das Seiko-Design der späten 1960er Jahre.

Condition:

The watch is in very good vintage condition. The stainless-steel case retains its distinctive late-1960s cushion profile and shows only minor age-related signs of wear.

The silver sunburst dial is well preserved, with attractive applied block hour markers, a framed day-date aperture and clearly visible original printing. Light signs of ageing are present on the dial and markers, consistent with the watch’s age.

The watch is fitted with a new, scratch-free crystal and a new black leather strap. The movement has been recently fully serviced and is functioning correctly.
