Item Description

A vintage set of three Japanese kitchen knives with traditional wooden handles.

Based on their blade shapes, the set appears to consist of two long sashimi/yanagiba-style knives and one heavier deba-style knife. The two slender blades have the long, narrow profiles traditionally associated with Japanese slicing knives, while the broader blade is considerably thicker at the spine and has the robust form commonly associated with a deba knife.

Two of the knives have identifiable Japanese markings. One of the long knives is engraved 「美味工房」 on the blade. Another knife has a traditional marking on its wooden handle reading 「登録 長傅」, together with an additional aged emblem/mark.

These are vintage, previously used knives and show considerable signs of age and use, including scratches, discoloration, stains, oxidation, rust, and general surface wear. The deba-style knife in particular has visible oxidation and rust over the blade. The wooden handles also show staining, discoloration, and wear consistent with age.

These knives are offered in their current, unrestored condition and are particularly suitable for collectors or enthusiasts who enjoy maintaining and restoring vintage Japanese knives. Cleaning, rust removal, polishing, sharpening, and other maintenance should be expected before practical use.

The patina and traces of use have been left as found rather than heavily restored, preserving the vintage character of the set.

Since July 24, 2026, Japan Post has temporarily suspended acceptance of some IOSS shipments, so alternative shipping services such as Japan Post UGX or Yamato Transport (UPS) may be used when necessary.

Therefore, depending on the destination country, shipping costs may be set slightly higher than usual in order to maintain reliable delivery. Thank you for your understanding.

The usual estimated delivery time is approximately 1–2 weeks, although this may vary depending on customs clearance and local delivery conditions.

Any import duties, VAT, customs clearance fees, or other charges incurred are the responsibility of the buyer.

The item will be carefully packed to ensure safe delivery. For environmental reasons, recycled cardboard boxes and reused packing materials may be used.

When safety can be ensured, lightweight packaging may also be used to reduce shipping costs.

Due to the impact on international mail services in the Middle East, Japan Post shipments to Cyprus are currently suspended. In addition, Yamato Transport cannot ship knives, so shipments to Cyprus will be sent individually via DHL.
