Antique Russian Batashev Samovar – Tula – Imperial Period – Extensive Factory Marks

Antique large solid-brass charcoal samovar produced by the renowned Batashev heirs’ samovar factory in Tula, Russian Empire.

A particularly important feature of this example is the extensive original factory marking preserved on the body. The inscriptions identify the manufacturer as the Partnership of the Steam Samovar Factory of the Heirs of Vasily Stepanovich Batashev in Tula.

The factory mark includes the inscription:

“Устав Высочайше утв. 10 Апр. 1898 г.”

This refers to the Imperial approval of the company charter on 10 April 1898. It is an important historical element of the Batashev factory marking and should not be interpreted as the exact manufacturing date of this individual samovar.

The samovar also bears historical award/exhibition medal marks, reflecting distinctions associated with the Batashev manufacturer. Detailed close-up photographs of the inscriptions and medal impressions are included.

The samovar has an imposing faceted body, decorative brass fittings, ornate side handles with dark grips, pierced decorative elements, four-footed base and tap. A matching drip bowl is included.
