1. Object Description
Offered here is an elegant and highly decorative House of Fabergé / Franklin Mint “The Fabergé Imperial Egg Lamp”, dating from 1992. The lamp is inspired by the luxurious decorative tradition associated with the House of Fabergé and combines deep royal blue porcelain with richly detailed precious-metal decoration.
The central body takes the form of a large Fabergé-style egg, finished in an intense dark blue and surrounded by elaborate ornamental metalwork. Particularly striking are the three sculptural swans supporting and embracing the egg. Their finely modelled bodies and wings form an elegant architectural structure around the porcelain centre. According to the specifications of this edition, the decorative metal elements feature 24-karat gold plating and 925 sterling silver, while the eyes of the three swans are set with lapis lazuli. Condition
The lamp is in good vintage condition and presents beautifully when illuminated.
The electrical function was present at the time the photographs were taken.
The original lampshade shows age-related signs of use and wear, particularly around the upper and lower edging. These traces are visible in the photographs and have deliberately not been concealed.
Minor signs of age may also be present on the metal and porcelain surfaces, consistent with an object produced more than three decades ago.
