A vintage Japanese tobacco tray produced by Keyaki Kogei, designed in the form of a traditional nagahibachi brazier.

The warm-toned wooden body displays a beautiful, expressive grain and is complemented by dark metal fittings and a substantial removable iron ashtray. The ashtray is decorated with flowing traditional motifs around its rim. A practical wooden lid covers the adjacent compartment, while the small front drawer provides convenient storage for smoking accessories, incense supplies, or other small items.

The natural oxidation visible inside the iron ashtray gives the piece an appealing wabi-sabi character, reflecting its age and history of use. Its low, architectural form and combination of wood and iron create a distinctly Japanese vintage appearance.
