Val Saint-Lambert – Rare Wine Service "Daudet" – Decanter & 6 Roemer Glasses – Louis XV Acid-Etched Decoration – Catalogue 1904–1905 – Art Nouveau

An exceptionally rare and museum-worthy Val Saint-Lambert wine service, comprising the original Daudet decanter together with six matching Roemer wine glasses, dating from the Belle Époque / early Art Nouveau period, circa 1904–1905.

Both the decanter and the glasses are illustrated in the original Val Saint-Lambert 1904–1905 catalogue under the Daudet model and are decorated with the elegant "Louis XV à l'acide" acid-etched ornamentation.

The decoration is among the finest produced by Val Saint-Lambert during the early twentieth century. Executed in delicate acid etching, it combines refined Louis XV rocaille scrolls with flowing Art Nouveau lines and richly detailed heraldic birds, floral branches, blossoms and ornamental cartouches. The beautifully balanced composition covers the crystal with remarkable precision and elegance.

The six Roemer glasses feature luminous olive-green bowls resting on elegant clear crystal stems, while the matching decanter is executed in clear crystal with the same luxurious acid-etched decoration and retains its original matching stopper. Together they form an exceptionally harmonious and sophisticated Belle Époque wine service.

Complete Daudet services are seldom encountered today, and examples including both the original decanter and six matching glasses are particularly scarce. Their documented appearance in the Val Saint-Lambert catalogue of 1904–1905 makes this ensemble especially desirable for collectors of early Belgian crystal, Art Nouveau decorative arts and important tableware.

Condition

All pieces are in very good antique condition with only light signs of careful use consistent with their age. The original stopper is present and fits correctly. No chips or cracks were observed. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form an integral part of the description.
