Gilt metal - Anhänger - With a pressed glass cameo

Vintage cameo pendant featuring a finely carved female profile in a deep green stone.

The oval cameo is set in an ornate decorative setting and is accompanied by a large suspension ring. The female portrait is shown in profile with detailed hair and classical-style features.

The green stone becomes particularly translucent and bright when illuminated from behind, as clearly shown in the photographs.

There is a visible damaged/chipped area on the reverse side of the green stone, which has been photographed in close detail. The appearance of this damaged area suggests that the cameo is made of stone rather than glass. Due to its deep green colour and appearance, jade is considered a possibility; however, the material has not been professionally tested and the final identification is left to Catawiki's expert.

The pendant shows signs of age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully, including the close-up photographs of the damaged area, as they form an important part of the condition description.
