Pancho Porto (1988) - Burning man

Limited edition sculpture in a series of 25 pieces, cast in bronze and corten steel, created by the Spanish sculptor Pancho Porto.
The sculpture is hand-signed and numbered, accompanied by its respective certificate of authenticity.

Pancho Porto (Santiago de Compostela, 1988) began his training in the specialty of artistic marquetry at the Antonio Failde center in Ourense. In this school he had his first contact with disciplines such as carving, drawing or modeling, and what is more important, with workshop work.
Later he enrolled at the Mestre Mateo School of Arts and Crafts in Santiago de Compostela, where he studied what would become his main discipline: sculpture. It is at this school that he already works with materials that will be basic in his work, such as steel or clay. Parallel to this, Porto continues his self-directed training and investigates other materials such as bronze or resins and their multiple uses and finishes, leaning towards bronze and steel as the definitive materials for his works.

After this initial training phase, he decides to set up his workshop on the banks of the Sarela river, very close to where he was born. It is here that he begins his particular theoretical and practical research into the relationship between the materials used in each work and the message they convey. This leads him to seek new proposals for communicating and narrating his story. Since then, this has been the usual tone of his works, adding complexity and depth to his entire body of work, with themes touching both on the social sphere and his personal experiences.
