What the Forest Hides is a mysterious figurative artwork that explores the secrets concealed beneath the surface of nature. Emerging from a shadowed forest, fragmented faces, watchful eyes and human forms appear like memories or spirits hidden among the trees.

The composition moves from a soft, misty upper space into a deep and textured landscape of black, purple and fiery orange. Delicate lines contrast with expressive layers of colour, creating a sense of discovery and inviting the viewer to look closely for the figures, emotions and stories concealed within the painting.

This artwork reflects the connection between nature, intuition and the unseen. Every symbol offers a new interpretation, allowing each viewer to discover something different within the forest.

About the Artist

Sonia Anton is a Romanian Australian self taught artist based in Bucharest. Raised in the south of France in a creative environment, she was surrounded by art from an early age in her mother’s atelier. After living across Europe, Australia and Mexico, and working as a chef aboard superyachts, she returned to her passion for painting.

Her work combines abstract and figurative elements with expressive lines, vivid colours and symbolic forms. Sonia Anton’s artworks are held in private collections throughout Europe and internationally.

Shipping

The artwork will be shipped rolled securely in a protective tube. It will arrive unstretched and unframed, allowing the collector to have it stretched and framed according to their own preference. It will be carefully packaged for safe delivery and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
