“You and Me” is part of my series “Beyond the Horizon”, which explores how difficult it can be for us to look beyond what we already know and see.
The horizon becomes a metaphor for the boundary between the visible and the invisible, between certainty and the unknown. We often remain on the familiar side because we are afraid of what might appear beyond it — or perhaps because we are afraid to recognize a truth that has always been there.
The two dark forms suggest a meeting: you and me. Yet the work leaves open where that meeting actually takes place — in the visible world, beyond the horizon, or somewhere within ourselves.
For me, “Beyond the Horizon” is an invitation to look further — beyond appearances, beyond fear, and beyond the limits we create in our own perception.
The artwork is created with mixed media and pigment on high-quality 100% cotton canvas (315 g/m²). It is hand-signed on the reverse and will be shipped unframed and carefully rolled in a protective tube. The additional canvas around the 100 × 70 cm composition allows the work to be stretched and framed by the collector.
